As Westerhof says Oliseh can’t deliver World Cup ticket

THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has resolved that only coaches licensed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) would be allowed to handle premier league sides in the country.
Hint to this effect was dropped yesterday in Abuja by the NFF at the on going CAF B-Licence coaching course. NFF’s first vice pres- ident, Shehu Dikko while declaring the two-week course open disclosed that only CAF licensed coaches would be allowed on the bench of top clubs from next season. Dikko who is the chairman of League Management Company (LMC) organizers of the nation’s domestic league said the minimum certificate for assistant coaches would be CAF’s C coaching licence.
“We are now ready to implement all aspects of Club Licensing provisions, including that which forbids coaches without CAF Licence working with top tier clubs. As from next season, coaches without the B-Licence will not be able to sit on the bench as head coaches of NPFL teams. Those who do not have a minimum of C-Licence cannot be assistant coaches. We will start from there and go higher in the years to come,” were Shehu’s words according to the NFF official website.
A good number of former and present coaches of the national teams, head coach- es of Nigeria Professional Football League teams and a good number of ex-international players are taking part in the two –week course, being superintended by former FIFA Advisor on technical matters, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde.
Meanwhile, ex- Super Eagles coach, Clemens Westerhof, has declared that Sunday Oliseh may shatter Nigeria’s Russia 2018 World Cup dreams, insisting that he does not have what it takes to deliver on the job.
Westerhof who managed Oliseh during his days as coach of the Super Eagles said Nigeria’s start to the qualifiers does not give con- fidence the team will win the race to Russia.
“The Super Eagles won 2-0 in (Port Harcourt) Nigeria but is it not a game the Super Eagles should be winning 6-0, 7-0 under normal circumstances?. What type of football do they play in Swaziland?” Westerhof queried. “I’m sorry, with Oliseh, the Super Eagles may not go to the World Cup in Russia,” he stated.
