Policemen attacked, houses razed in Ebonyi, Cross River communities

Paschal Nnawunezi       Monday, 2 November 2015
HOSTILITIES returned at the weekend to Adadama and Amagu Ikwo communities in Ebonyi and Cross River states, with many policemen drafted to the areas sustaining injuries during the attack.
Though Daily Sun gathered that nobody died, it was gathered that some policemen drafted to maintain peace and order at the buffer between the two warring communities were attacked and many sustained injuries with many houses razed when people suspected to come from Adadama invaded Ikwo community.
The recent attack by the people of Adadama in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State was blamed on the allegation that the people of Amagu Ikwo in Ikwo council area of Ebonyi State allegedly trespassed into the buffer between the two warring communities.
They alleged further that the people of Ebonyi in connivance with some policemen had been trespassing into the land, which allegedly led to the recent attack, with some policemen sustaining injuries while residents of the Ebonyi community fled for dear lives.
